Whitewater CE Primary School

Whitewater CE Primary School

Church Community

Whitewater C of E Primary School is part of the wider church community and supported by the parish of Heckfield, Mattingley and Rotherwick and the Diocese of Winchester. We have a close relationship with our local church community, celebrating key events in the Christian and school calendars at Rotherwick Church. These events include Harvest Festival, Remembrance Day, Christmas, Easter and Year 6 Leavers.

The school has two Foundation Governors, Reverend Marion De Quidt and Reverend Shona Hoad, both of whom are active in the school community. Reverend Marion De Quidt is the Rector of the Whitewater Benefice and leads Collective Worship at school each week. Reverend Shona Hoad is the Assistant Priest for the Whitewater Benefice. Members of the Church community lead 'Open the Book' assemblies each week in school and run the ‘Walk Through Easter’ celebration each year.

As a church school we have a daily act of Collective Worship which includes developing the values of the Christian faith, including our core values of Love, Courage and Respect. We focus on one key value each half-term, such as honesty, tolerance, resilience or compassion. Please see the 'Collective Worship' and 'Home School Values' pages for more information.

As part of the school's 300 year anniversary, the children designed a stained glass window for Rotherwick Church. The church is a short walk from school and is open daily for people to reflect and pray. The children's window is located at the front of the church on the right hand side.
