World Tapir Day

Dear Otters,

Happy World Tapir Day! I hope you all had a restful and fun weekend and are ready to get back to your home learning today. Tapirs are fascinating creatures, so I hope you take some time to learn more about them.

What is your favourite tapir fact? Leave it in the comments below!

Hi Ms Lamble! I had a very nice weekend, hope you did too! How are your cats doing? Are they behaving? My Bob is sleeping all day long! My favourite fact about tapir is that the baby tapir doesn't look like mummy tapir at all, they have spots and zebra strips. Also tapirs are not a pigs :D but they do look a bit like pigs, because they have a snout. Hope you have a good Monday! Miss all my Otter friends and otter teachers! Love Remy xxxx

Hi Ms Lamble, I knew about the tapir from a book in school. Mummy didn't know what a tapir was. Tapirs are endangered and I really like their long nose which looks quite cute. I like the fact that they have 14 toes, 4 on each front foot and 3 on each back foot. I learned that they are closely related to horses and rhinos. I like that the babies are white striped. They live in Belize we looked it up on Google maps. Love Sylvi xxx

Dear Ms. Lamble. I like tapirs and I saw couple of them in Cotswold Zoo which is one of mine favourite places! I hope I will return there soon, perhaps on my Birthday in June. I was very lucky today, on my walk with my dogs I found seven leaf clover! I can’t wait to show you when we are back in school. Love Bianca

Dear Remy, I had a lovely weekend, thank you. Yes, Percy and Wilbur are behaving and enjoying spending lots of time outside. Say hi to Bob for me! I love your tapir fact, I hadn't thought about it but baby tapirs do look very different to their mums! Love from, Ms Lamble

Dear Olivia (and Zachary), I love reading your messages too! Mrs Jolliffe told me that she saw you the other day and that you have grown really tall. It's amazing that a tapir can eat more than you weigh - they don't look very big in the pictures, where do they put it all?! Love from, Ms Lamble

Dear Freya, What a great nickname! Although I'm not sure they'd be as delicious as watermelons... Love from, Ms Lamble
