Whitewater CE Primary School

Week 3

Forest School Principle 3 states - "Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners." This week the children really embraced this and were able to use their learnt skills to work more independently whilst being introduced to new skills during the process.  Some great whittling went on with Pokemon. Gnomes and Beady eye sticks being created amongst other things.  One child used a pruning saw to make small wood cookies from coppiced Hazel.  The shelter building was once again popular and the light wind made it particularly fun, creating the effect of a rolling sea.

Fire, marshmallows, hot chocolate, mud play, leaf printing using hapa  techniques and bug hunting too!  We even tried to made Pudsey out of leaves for Children in Need day!
