Tell a Story Day

Good Morning Everyone,

We hope you had a lovely weekend and managed to enjoy some of the sunshine!

I (Mrs Buringham) have been enjoying being out in the garden with my family and bunnies over the weekend!  I have also enjoyed watching the light aircraft take off and land at Blackbushe airport on Saturday (from my back garden).  The pilots were given a 30 minute flight slot in which they were able to take their aircraft up into the sky to give the engine a good run.  A friend has told me that if light aircraft sit unused for too long, the engines seizes (gets stuck) and they break… I have learnt something new this weekend!

Today is ‘Tell a Story Day’! So today, maybe it would be nice to share a story with your family.  Maybe you could take it in turns to share your favourite books with each other. The favourite book in my house is Bears on Chairs by Shirley Parenteau, we have read it every night last week to my little boy!! However, I prefer Truckers by Terry Pratchett.  This is a story about “Nomes” who live alongside humans without being noticed.  It’s book one of three in a series with the other two being Diggers and Wings. I read them when I was younger and I have enjoyed reading them all again recently.

Mrs Laurie’s favourite book is Little Grey Men by B.B, I wonder if you can spot any similarities between our books?

What book will you be sharing in your family today and why do you like it?  Maybe you are going to share a story that you have created yourself? If so, what is your story about?

Hi Jacob, Lovely to hear from you. Your idea to research the Coronavirus is a good one. CBBC's Newsround website has a whole section dedicated to the Coronavirus and has lots of information you may find helpful for your research! Mrs L & Mrs B
