Dream catching

Good Morning Foxes!

It is lighter much earlier in the mornings now so many of us are waking up earlier to the accompaniment of lots of very loud and cheerful birdsong! How are we all after another night of sleep?

In native Native American Indian culture,  'dream catchers' , such as our blog image today, were hung above the beds of sleeping children to protect them from bad dreams and evil spirits. Legends held that the spider web design of the dream catcher would allow good dreams to pass through and float down the hanging beads and feathers to sleeping children.

What good dreams have you had that you remember?  Have you ever made or been given a dream catcher? Why not make one today if you haven't!

Have a good day and remember that tomorrow will be our last blog for a week as we relax for our half-term break. We will be back online on Monday 1st June.

Hi everyone, Last night i had a dream that i was eating a giant version of my cake that i made yesterday (For homework the victoria sponge) then I began to grown and get fat like Violet from Charlie and the chocalate factory! and my sister made a few dream catchers and she made me one to hang up in my room. My dreamcatcher has white, fluffy dangling feathers that are super soft! From Ela and my sister stay safe😁

Hi Mrs L and Mrs B, I can't remember some of my good dreams, but I can remember a bad dream from when I was 2. It was about my mum turning into a wolf. It was funny because when she heard me screaming, she ran in and I still thought she was a wolf! From Esme

Hello everyone, A few nights ago in a dream I met Bart Simpson and I was in Springfield (where the Simpsons live) Bart, Millhouse and I played a joke on Homer and gave Marge an even sillier hair style.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can’t wait to hear from you Johnny👦🏼 Ps: Happy birthday for Saturday Aston🤹🏻‍♂️🍰🎂🎂🎉🎊 Ps2: thank you for the idea of the dream catcher

Hey there James! Lots of people don't remember their dreams - your not unusual in that. We agree, the lockdown is getting to us all - some more than others by the sounds of it! Mrs Laurie used to have a weird recurring dream when she was little - all that she did in the dream was laugh and run! Take care and thanks for keeping in touch.

Hey there William, we do know what you mean when you say that you don't normally dream - just sleep. And, how annoying is it to wake up when you have not been to sleep for very long? Terrible! It's even worse when you wake up and think it's morning and it's still the middle of the night. However, the bonus is that you still have some sleep time left:) So sorry to hear that you can't get to sleep - that can be very frustrating. Perhaps try a milky bedtime drink to help you drift off ? We're sure your mum and dad know all the good sleep recipes to help you, such as not going online/on screen for at least 3-4 hours before you go to bed; have a warm bath; read or listen to a story and gets lots of exercise during the day so that your body is tired and ready to rest. Hopefully you sleep well tonight 🤞

Hi Ela, your imagination was clearly very much at work last night! The Victoria Sponge sounds great but not the magical effect that it had on you. How kind of your sister to make you your own dream catcher - it's clearly doing a very good job at the moment! Take care,

Hi Johnny, can Marge Simpson's hair get any sillier?! Mind you, if Mrs Laurie's current hair situation is anything to go by then yes, anything is possible! She has recently begun to have a marked resemblance to Charles II - without the beard and moustache we hasten to add! We are pleased you liked the dream catcher idea - perhaps you can share it with us when we are back together? We all send out best wishes to Aston too and hope he has a very special day.🎂

Hi Foxes! I have been dreaming a lot over the last few weeks! Have you? I read that it is your brain processing all the information you have absorbed through the day! Many of my dreams have been about school - probably because I am missing you all! Today I will make my own dream catcher as Mrs Laurie and Mrs Burningham have suggested, good luck making yours! Mrs Sharp X
