Whitewater CE Primary School

Monday 4th May

Hello Red Kites! The images this week will be cropped front covers of books from my library.

Can you guess the book name?

Can you guess the author?

What have you read since you have been away from school?

Has anyone finished Cogheart or Polar Bear Explorers' Club that I sent home?

What has been the best book you have read and why?

The weather looks quite dry this week so get out where you can and I hope to hear from as many of you as possible this week!

Hiya Mr G! I think I know where that is from. I think it's the boy at the back of the class by Onjali Q. Raúf . I have read four books in six days on my kindle. I really enjoyed the school for good and evil. I am now reading trapped: the cate carslile files. Hope to see you soon! Caitlin

Hi Mr G, I think the book is The Boy At The Back Of The class but I am not sure because I have not read the book. I have not finished the polar bear explorers club yet but I am very close (I am trying to catch up on my books as well). Hope you are well, Erin.

The picture is The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Q.Rauf . We have 4 more days until the pheasant eggs will start to hatch but hopefully we get some chicks although we don't know what we will do if we get some so if anybody want's some pheasants we will be happy to give you some especially if we get 14 or 15. Yes i have finished the polar bear explorers club and i loved it so i did a book review on it. I have read lots of books but my favourite one was called eleven and it was about a 11 year old boy and on his eleventh birthday he rescues a dog so that dog becomes his, but just before break at school they had to go home early. His birthday was on the eleventh of September 2001 and you might know what happened on that day Mr G. two planes crashed into the twin towers in Manhattan and in the story the main characters dad was coming out from the tower when the highjacked planes crashed. I think you should get it for the book shelf because it is a very good book. Now i am reading shadow jumper which is a very good book aswell. The best book that I have ever read is, The Boy the Mole the Fox ad the Horse.

Hi Mr G I think the book is The Boy At The Back Of The Class by Onjali Q Rauf. I knew the book but I had to look up the author! I have read quite a few books the most recent ones were the Bad Mermaids series and a book my aunt got me called Magical Treasury by Enid Blyton. All three were really good and I highly recommend them! I have finished the polar bear explorers club and I think it is amazing! The best book I've read is Magical Treasury because it is full of short, funny and magical stories. Hopefully I'll see you all soon! From Freya

Hi Caitlin - I am glad that you are loving your Kindle. It is amazing how much access you have to books just a fingertip away! I will blog the photo of your hen today :)

Hi Éva - it is good you have a range of books to read. I am sorry to hear that you had a little accident on your bike but I am glad that you are ok. The dentists are such an important part of the NHS - see how our learning is all linked to day to day life? It might have given you a bit of a shock too but it is important to get back up, dust yourself down and go again. I tried to find a video of speed skater Elsie Christie. She represents Team GB and in the past few years has had awful luck with falls in big competitions. See if your Mum or Dad could show you. Despite the falls, injuries and heartbreak, she has kept going and is looking forward to the next Winter Olympics!

Hi Luke - well done for doing a book review on it. I had not heard of Eleven but I have just Googled it and I would like to read it. It seems to tell the events of that tragic day in a very sensitive way which is important. We cannot and should not ignore our history but we need to be able to understand it and relate to it. Fingers crossed for the pheasants!

Hi Freya - Enid Blyton! Well done Aunt. Such a national treasure. Did you know that she wrote over 700 books and that her books have sold over 500 million copies across the world? She achieved so much. I would like to see Magical Treasury when we retuen - it does truly sound magical!
