Happy Earth Day 2020!

Dear Otters,

Happy Earth Day 2020! I hope you all get a chance to go on a nature walk to day. Leave me a comment telling me what you saw.

Each year for Earth Day I like to promise to make one small change to look after our world. I think about the three 'Rs' that we've talked about in class: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. This year, my promise is to recycle all the natural rubbish in my home by composting it. Natural rubbish includes things like scraps of fruits and vegetables, crushed egg shells, coffee grinds, tea leaves, hair and fur. Composting turns these things into lovely 'humus', a kind of soil that is really good for plants.

What small change might you make to look after our world? Have a look here for some ideas: https://www.funkidslive.com/learn/environment/r-is-for-reducing-re-using-and-recylcing/#

As always, remember to stay safe online.

Love from,

Ms Lamble

Hello Ms Lamble, I really miss you and all my classmates. We’ve been walking and scooting everyday, I love the sunny weather. I’ve eaten some Easter eggs and made Easter craft from coffee filters and paint, it was messy! We put them in our window to make people happy! I’ve been doing BBC Bitesize which is fun, my little sister is being very loud so it’s difficult sometimes. I would like to help the planet by asking Mummy and Daddy to try and buy things with less plastic. We are growing some salad and vegetables in the garden to help this! Lots of love Seren x

I saw red kites building their nest nearby our house. My daddy thought they were gone but they aren't. :) I miss you all. I liked the videos on Nat Geo and the Kids Science show. On our nature walk through the wood today I saw bluebells, wild orchids, tadpoles, heard cuckoos and woodpeckers in the trees and seen hares, rabbits and deer today.

Hello Ms Lamble and my friends, Happy Earth Day! We went on a nature walk (bike ride) today and I saw a lot of Red Kites flying in the sky. When I went down the steps to the bridge by the duck pond, I saw Forget Me Nots, ducks and morhens. We also saw a White Lilac bush. Best wishes and love from Olivia (and Zachary) xxx

Dear Seren, I miss you too. I'm glad to hear you're doing such lovely activities at home. I love the sound of your messy coffee filter paper craft - what did you make?! I think using less plastic and growing things to eat at home are brilliant ways to help the Earth. Love from, Ms Lamble

Dear Felix, I'm so pleased you enjoyed the videos. Wow, you saw so much on your nature walk! I love seeing hares because I think they're beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen a wild orchid. Love from, Ms Lamble
