Sunflowers

Dear Otters,

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Painting pointillist sunflowers has made we wonder how the sunflowers we planted in the last week of term are doing. Let me know in the comments below!

Love from,

Ms Lamble

Hi Ms Lamble, My sunflower is 101 cm tall! Sadly, the flower isn't there yet, but I'll water it every day. For topic, I planted popcorn kernels and some seeds from a cucumber. The sweetcorn is now 10 cm tall, but the cucumber hasn't germinated yet, although I'm still hopeful. I enjoyed dotty painting and mummy and I did the resilience board game. At first, I didn't want to do it, but I did and I found I started to enjoy it! I'll send some pictures of my plants and my painting to the Office to send on to you. At the weekend, we tidied our garage and found some things that had belonged to my daddy when he was young. He gave me some little toy tortoises. Did you know, the word for tortoise in Swahili is Kobi? My cousins in Tanazania speak Swahili and have a fresh water turtle that they rescued from the roadside! Love Leo💚

Dear Ms Lamble, Today I did a colourful pointillism painting of three sunflowers. I will email you a photo of it. On one of the flowers I did a rainbow ombre across each petal that carried on to the middle and then ended with a sparkly turquoise. I was off school when you planted the sunflower seeds, but Daddy has planted some red, yellow and giant sunflowers and so far they are growing healthily in their pots. Scarlett also gave me a sunflower that is also growing very well! For Friday's blog I forgot to answer your question. Here is my answer: The first time I went on the monkey bars I wasn't sure how to get from bar to bar. On the first day I did one monkey bar then I dropped, then on the second day I did 2 more, then I did three and four, and then I managed to do 5. Finally I could do ALL the monkey bars. By taking it slowly and proceeding every day you can succeed in doing things. Lots of love from Freya xoxoxoxo

Dear Leo, Wow, it sounds like you're growing lots of different plants! I'm so glad you enjoyed the resilience board game. I wish we had tortoises living in the wild here! Have you read 'Esio Trot' by Roald Dahl? I think you would enjoy it. Love from, Ms Lamble

Dear Freya, I really enjoyed seeing your pointillist painting, well done! I'm glad to hear you're growing some sunflowers at home. I really like your description of how you learned to use the monkey bars, it is a very clear example of resilience and perseverance leading to progress! Love from, Ms Lamble

Dear Olivia (and Zachary), Gosh, your sunflower must be enormous, especially as you've grown since we've been away! I'm excited that there's a bud. Love from, Ms Lamble
