The Design Technology curriculum will actively support the growth of the Whitewater Learner. They will develop key skills such as observation, questioning and investigation, to look critically at design They will endeavour to evaluate products and their own work always reflecting and improving. Through their decision making and experimentation they will develop confidence and increase their self-esteem, reflecting on their own work and also that of others in a positive and respectful manner.

The Whitewater Engineer will endeavour to understand good design assessing products for example for efficacy and sustainability. They will create their own lines of enquiry in order to fulfil a design brief. They will select and use tools of technology safely and effectively to achieve desired effects refining their choices. They will develop their imagination and creativity inspired by solving real problems.

At Whitewater, we have designed our Design Technology curriculum on a two-year cycle. The Roadmap shows the journey that our children take as they progress through school. Our Design Technology curriculum is progressive, broad and engaging.
