Spring antics

We were joined by children from Hedgehog class for the first sessions of the summer term.  In week 1 it was all about discovery and starting to build some forest school skills.

In session 2, the children really enjoyed celebrating Earth day – firstly by creating trees on the ground with leaves and sticks and then by making earth candles, learning to use knives for whittling and how to tie hammocks to trees.  We also used our round shelter for the first time in case of rain!

Pouring the molten wax into the ground, adding essential oils for smell and putting a wick in, held in place by two sticks.

Left to harden for approximately 30 minutes and then dug out.
